Richard Haes, 73, passed away surrounded by his family on January 8, 2021. He was born in Garner, Iowa, on June 17, 1947, the son of Donald and Ann Haes.
Dick served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. A true entrepreneur, Dick owned and operated various businesses over the years. He spent the past 26 years of his career dedicating his time to Haes Construction.
Dick is survived by his children, Jeff Haes, Craig Haes, Jason (Melisa) Haes, Madison (Vic) Toney, and Brooke Haes; mother, Ann Haes; 8 grandchildren, his siblings, Bill (Pat) Haes and Nancy (Dennis) Cornelius; as well as his beloved cats, Peaches and Dutchess. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald.
A celebration of life will be held from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, January 14, 2021, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines. He will be laid to rest at Iowa Veterans Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project in loving memory of Dick.

To The Haes family
so sorry for your loss. thoughts and prayers are with you all. God's Comfort and Guidance. so many memories from hanging at the bars and working for Dick at the bar. he became a very good long time friend. had great convo each time he came into Sams Club where Bradley myself worked. He will be missed. Toast up to ya Dick. Rest in Heaven.
