Richard D. Gibson, age 69, passed away on January 1, 2021 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. He was born the son of Daniel and Mildred Gibson on September 17, 1951 in Des Moines, Iowa.
Richard graduated from Roosevelt High School. He held various jobs throughout his life, he worked at Fishermen’s Community Hospital in Marathon, Florida, Iowa Packing, AMF, and most recently handled recycling at Valley West Mall.
Richard was a godly man and served the Lord through his home. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his wifey, Deborah, his cat, Sassy, doing puzzle books, and playing on the computer.
He is lovingly survived by his wifey, Deborah; siblings, Judy Russell, Dennis (Debbie) Gibson, Debbie Lanphier, David (Joy) Gibson, and Buddy (Michelle) Gibson; and numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Sharon Wilbur and Sandy Sable; and his brother, Ronnie Gibson.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, January 8, 2021 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines, with burial to follow at 1:30 p.m. at Avon Cemetery.

I have known the Gibson family since we were all kids and sorry to hear of Richard's death! But knowing that Richard served The Lord makes me feel happy that he is now with Jesus! I continue to keep the Gibson family in my Prayers
