Rosanna was born June 23, 1928 in Lancaster, Missouri. She was a hard-working farm girl, who even at a young age had a zest for life. Her biggest pleasure was being a mother and grandmother, and there was none better. Rosanna worked for many years for Iowa Lutheran Hospital, retiring at 62. She enjoyed planning and preparing lavish dinner parties for her family and friends. Her sense of humor was beyond measure. She loved all things sparkly – especially her clothes. Rosanna was compassionate, caring and above all a wonderful mother and grandmother. She will be eternally missed by her family and friends, and all those who knew her. Once you met Rosanna you couldn't help but love her.
Rosanna is survived by her three daughters, Pamela Falkstrom, Mikan (Bruce) Gorla and Melissa (John) Harvey, all of Des Moines; two sisters, Marilee (Charles) Beeler of Lancaster, Missouri and Phyllis Kissel of Des Moines; seven grandchildren, Mitchel Falkstrom, Matt (Tess) Falkstrom and Justin (Danielle) Gorla, all of Des Moines, Jason Gorla of Dubuque, Joshua Gorla and Michael (Charlotte) Falkstrom of Des Moines, and her only granddaughter, Kaitlin Rose Harvey with whom she shared such a special relationship, and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Phillip Johnson; son, Phillip Dale Johnson; mother, Ruby Reynolds; father, Charles Flynn; step-father, Robert Reynolds and her son-in-law, Lew Falkstrom.
Rosanna's family would like to extend a special thank you to the critical care staff at Iowa Methodist Medical Center who took such loving care of her during her illness, with a special thanks to Deb, Mandy, Sarah and Angela.
