Nadine Harrington, age 82, passed away Thursday, December 24, 2020.
Nadine was born September 3, 1938 to Fern and Clarence Abbott in Des Moines, Iowa. She graduated from Johnston High School.
She loved to bake cakes, and always made birthday and graduation cakes for the family. As a single mom, she worked three jobs to provide for her five boys. Nadine cut all her boys’ hair at home. She played cards with her friends and family, always having a welcoming home.
She is survived by her sons, Jeffery, Timothy (Jennifer), Stephen (Sarah), and John (Roxanne) Harrington; 9 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; sister, Mary Eileen Hamel; many nieces, nephews, and other loving family members.
Nadine was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Robert.
No services will be held at this time. When we can gather together again safely, there will be a celebration of life.

I am so sorry to hear of Nadine's passing. What a wonderful blessing this lovely lady was in my life. She always talked about her boys and grandchildren with so much joy and love. I will forever admire this beautiful person. Rest in peace sweet Nadine.

Im so sorry about your loss. i loved your mom. She was a good friend and neighbor to me in Madrid.I loved her cakes, ice tea, and monkey bread. I loved her laugh. I remember the night we met at Woodward and as we talked discovered we were neighbors! Sending prayers.

So very sorry to hear about Nadines's passing she was a wonderful person and always was a pleasure to be around. I will miss you "grandma", hugs to all of her family.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Nadine was a good friend of my moms. Nadine also hosted and made the cake for my oldest sons baby shower, 30 yrs ago. She was always so nice. Nadines family is in my prayers.

So sorry to hear about Nadine. She was a hard worker and enjoyed the few times I visited with her. Jeremy was just saying that he remembers taking John fishing one time. Will let Darren know also.Thoughts and prayers to the family.
