Richard Bolton

Richard Bolton, 86, passed away on December 17, 2020 at Good Samaritan Society in Indianola. He was born in Dallas Center, Iowa on April 16, 1934 to Virgil and Edna Bolton.

Richard graduated from Madrid High School in 1952 and enlisted in the Army serving in Korea. Graduated from University of Illinois in Chicago. Richard was a Civil Engineer with the Iowa Department of Transportation for 36 years. he was an active member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church for 41 years. He enjoyed square dancing, camping and traveling to National Parks.

He is survived by his son, Kevin Bolton. sisters, Mary Lou (Sigmund) Bolton, Sue (Meeker) Bolton, and brother, John Bolton.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Keith Bolton and Elizabeth, loving wife of 58 years.

Services will be held on Monday, January 4, 2021 at 2 p.m., at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines. Visitation will be at 1pm. Burial will take place at Pine Hill Cemetery in Des Moines.
