Our sincere sympathy to the Whitney family. I remember Russell and his family when they attended the Whitney Reunion's in Missouri. I am sorry that we have not been in closer contact since the reunion stopped, but heard of Russell's death thru Christine.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I am so sorry for your loss. I have been friends with Russ for off and on 31 years now. He was the one to call me when Vickey- my very best friend-ever, passed away.
I'm sorry I can't be at the funeral; I really wanted to come. He is at peace now and out of pain. I know he loved his family; at Ronnie's funeral whenever he talked of Laura, the kids, or grandkids,he eyes just sparkled.
You all have my condolences. He is now with his parents, brothers, and sisters.
He was truly one of a kind.

I knew Russ for many years. He was a good friend to me even tho we didn't see each other very much. He was the one to call me when my best friend, Vickey, his sister, passed away. I will always be grateful for that. I went an seen him when he was in the hospital a couple of years ago. We had a good visit.
I know how much he loved and treasured Laura, his kids, and grand kids. When I talked to him at Ronnie's funeral, his eyes just sparkled when we talked about his family. I was now that I could of kept in closer contact with him and Laura.
My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time. I know how hard it is; we lost my mom 3 months ago to a drunk driver. At least Russ no longer has any pain. He will be welcomed by his parents, brothers, and sisters with open arms.

To Laura and the kids:
To start I want to say I am sorry for your lost,I know what you all are going through..I was there just not too long ago. But we need to look at it like this he was ready even though we was not, He is in heaven with my dad. They are back to being on the same dart team as they always have... I will miss them both sooo very much.. And just as much as all of you will. We have been through soo much together. But one thing we will be is still family and family sticks strong together in a time of need.. To all the kids we must stay strong for our own kids cause they will be the ones that is hurt the most right now asking why there grandpa is gone? As a parent you will find the right words to say as I have done , but if you need my help I will help with what I can.. Just remember he is in no more pain and suffer no more, He is in heaven with my dad, his best friend. They are there together once again... I love you all and pray you all stay strong...
Love your cousin/neice...

My loveing brother
He was here now he's gone..I know when he got tired he kept going .. I know when he was drained and worn out he kept going..He got weak but found a strength to keep going.. There was times when he was being called home..but he wouldn't give up and he kept going ..He loved his family' this we all know And as much as we all loved him it was his time to go home.
He was here now he's gone He will NO longer hurt or be in Pain.. Now he is free and at peace..He did not loose his battle and a long one it was He did not give up the battle nor did he loose.. He was just tired and it was his time to go home..
