Carroll L. Murphy

Carroll L. Murphy, 90, passed away on Saturday, August 22, at Mercy Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, with burial to follow at the Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., also at the funeral home, 605 Lyon Street.
He was born on August 28, 1919, to Edith and James Murphy in Exline, IA. Carroll spent most of his years in Des Moines married to his beloved wife of 62 years, Marjorie Jean (Mickie) Murphy. He served in the United States Army in WWII with the 1339th Engineer Construction Battalion.
He is survived by his sister; Ruth Gibbel of Des Moines, sons; David Murphy of Booneville, Jon (Judi) Murphy of Urbandale, daughter; Cindy (Jim) DeGraw of Osceola, many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends in Iowa and Arizona.
Carroll was preceded in death by his loving wife Mickie, and son, Michael.
