Allan Michael Curray

Allan Michael Curray, 18, died peacefully Monday, August 17, 2009 at Blank Children's Hospital in Des Moines of complications of Cystic Fibrosis. Allan was born on April 2, 1991 to Tom Curray and Carol Bowman. He attended Collins Maxwell School until the age of 15, when he moved to Des Moines and graduated from Saydel on May 17, 2009. He was enrolled as a freshman at Grandview University in Des Moines.
Diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at 6 months of age, Allan fought a courageous lifelong battle. He started to lose this battle at age 16, but never showed it with his cheery attitude. He enjoyed playing X-Box 360, riding dirt bikes, and watching the Green Bay Packers; Brett Favre was his all time favorite player.
Allan Michael is survived by his parents, Tom and Karene Curray-Hudnall of Des Moines and his mother, Carol (Larry) West; his grandparents, Thomas and Shirley Curray of Ankeny; Aunt Kimberly (Michael), Tyler and Noah Hochstetler and Ashley (Andrew) Baker. Karene’s parents, Richard and Nancy Hudnall; Uncle Blaine (Connie) and family; and Aaron; several great aunts, aunts, uncles and cousins; and a host of family friends.
A celebration of life will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 20, 2009 at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave, Des Moines.
