Susan Lynn Baker, 54, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2009 at Regency Care Center. Susan was born on June 21, 1955 to Robert and Betty Mellicker in Iowa City, Iowa. She graduated from Iowa City High in 1973 and from UNI with a master's degree in Library Science. Susan was a teacher for the Cedar Falls school district and also worked for a time as Librarian at the Waterloo Library in Waterloo, Iowa.
Susan is survived by her husband, Jack Baker; son, Adam Baker of Oregon; sister, Chris (Mike) Kois of Arkansas; and nephew, Matt Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at the Sheraton Hotel, 1800 50th Street in West Des Moines, Iowa from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Dear Ms. Baker, I love Mr. Dunne so much and I was as shocked as any of us that didn't know he was ill to hear of his passing. I loved and trusted him like I have not many others in any field. This world was a better place because of the personal hell he survived....his anger made those of us who have also been there feel like we had an advocate. My friend, although vicarious, is gone and I don't feel quite so safe with him not here. God bless him for the good work he did on earth and I am sure if anyone is misbehaving in heaven, he'll set them right. Good-bye, Mr. Dunne.You are very much missed here. Love, Judith Hillman
