Marian Raper

Marian Raper, 94, died Saturday, August 15, 2009 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at Indianola Heights Christian Church, 3139 SE 8th St., with burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.
Marian was born April 27, 1915 to George and Birdie Ballard in Seymour, IA. She was a member of Indianola Heights Christian Church and the Pioneer Park Social Club. Marian loved raising her children and being a devoted grandmother.
Marian is survived by her husband, Lester; children, Marianne Solem, Donald (Sheryl Jacob), Doug (Marty), and Randall Raper; eleven grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and Pete Leopold.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two grandchildren, Teri Lynn Raper and Marty Solem; five brothers; and three sisters.
Memorial contributions may be given to Indianola Heights Christian Church.
