Helen Leone Green

Helen L. Green, 91, passed away Friday, August 14, 2009 at Taylor House Hospice.
Helen was born April 25, 1918 in Des Moines to Jesse and Nina (Overton) Brown. She married Marvin Green on February 3, 1953. Helen was a legal secretary for Rahm & Thielking until her retirement in 1981. She was a member of Happy Trails Singers. Helen, on the organ together with her sister Frances, on the piano, enjoyed entertaining residents at various nursing homes.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Nina (Philip) Brown of Newton; granddaughters, Jennifer (Ryan) Repp of Newton and Katy (Luke Gloeckner) Brown of Ohio; and her sister, Frances Hull of Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 17, 2009 at Pine Hill Cemetery.
