Morris "Sac" Fadiga

Morris "Sac" Fadiga, 87, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2009 at Taylor House Hospice from complications following a stroke. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 17, 2009 at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 121 NW 60th Avenue. Burial will occur at 1 p.m. at Cross Roads Cemetery near Plano, IA. Visitation will be held 3-5 p.m. Sunday, August 16, 2009 at the funeral home.
Sac was born July 29, 1922 to Joe and Winifred (Price) Fadiga in Diamond, IA. He attended country schools and Centerville High School. In 1945, Sac married Geraldine Davis. His employment with Hoak Construction, installing power lines, took them throughout the western U.S., living in over forty communities before returning to Iowa in 1964.
He enjoyed playing cards, working in his yard, and traveling. He adored his grand-children and spent as much time with them as possible.
Sac is survived by his daughters, Janice Reed of Leadville, CO, and Jody (Howard) Caswell of Des Moines; grandchildren, Jana (Lee) Chase and Patrick Reed of Leadville, CO; Jill (James) Berthod of Fruita, CO; Abbie and Grant Caswell of Des Moines; great-grandchildren, Krystal, Robert and Harley Chase of Leadville, CO; four sisters, Frances (Doyle) Bailey of Centerville, Barbara Carpenter of Davenport, Betty Hart of Port Byron, IL, and Joann Davis of Durant; one brother, Charles (Roberta) Fadiga of Centerville; and two sisters-in-law, Gretchen Fadiga and Donna Davis of Centerville, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gerry; an infant daughter; great-grandson, Jessi Chase; son-in-law, Val Reed; and two brothers, John and Joe Fadiga.
