William Roberts
December 10, 2020
William “Bill” Roberts was born on November 25, 1942 and passed away on December 10, 2020. Bill was the son of Boyd and Lena (Carico) Roberts.
He was employed at Armstrong Tire for 34 years and then employed at Maytag until retirement. Bill accomplished his dream to build his home in the country. Putting in the tree farm and later the pond. This was the center of family gatherings. Surrounded by nature, fishing, hunting, and mowing was his kind of enjoyment. Two years of fighting cancer took his energy, but drew his heart to what each seek… Peace, in the inner man. Grace Church reached out to him and he was baptized bringing him affirming grace. He finished well.
Bill is survived by his wife, Karen (Wimber); sons, Scott (Sheila), Todd (Sherri), Sean (Cheri); daughter, Jill Roberts; grandsons, Cody (Juliana), Cory (Erin), Kyle (Megan), Casey, Dave (Kris) Overton; great-grandchildren, McKenna, Keegan Overton and Nathan Roberts; brother, Norman; sister, Judy Johnston; sisters-in-law, Beverly Roberts, Beth (Tony) Dietsch, Terry Gilley. He was preceded in death by his parents, Boyd and Lena; and brother, Larry.
Special thanks to Lance and Ryan Roberts.
Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m., with a 2:00 p.m. service to follow on Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave, Des Moines. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Fair Haven Foundation of Indianapolis, in loving memory of Bill.

Bill faced his diagnosis and death with a quiet faith and dignity as did Karen. I enjoyed visiting Bill and Karen, I looked forward to each visit. I am thankful to have both Bill and Karen placed in my life. I hope I was able to bless them as much as they blessed me.

I am so saddened to hear of Bill's passing. Karen, I endured this myself 10 years ago so I know how heartbreaking this is. I pray that God will give you the "peace that passeth all understanding" and that He will give you the strength to endure this loss. God Bless you!

I'm so sorry to hear of Uncle Bill's passing. To me he was always the quiet Uncle at family events-and belive me that's a compliment 😁 When he smiled his whole face smiled and that lives on in his kids.
