Pastor Roland H. Warren, Sr.
December 10, 2020
Pastor Roland H. Warren, Sr. was born to Deacon Julius C. and Mother Mary G. Warren on March 26, 1943 in Des Moines, IA. He was blessed to have Godly parents who introduced him and his sisters, Merma and Bessie, to our God of this Universe. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He had been working in the house of God ever since trying to win souls to Christ our Savior.
After graduating from Des Moines Technical High School in 1962 he went to work at Armstrong Rubber & Tire Company for nine and a half years. During the strike, he sought other employment with Western and Southern Life Insurance Company where he was the first black agent to be a Million Dollar Producer. He was then promoted to management, where he served in that position until the company closed. He then worked as an agent for American National Life Insurance Company, followed by Allstate Insurance Company for a period of more than thirty years.
While being a Pastor at Trinity Temple Church of God in Christ he was blessed to spread the word of God through music on KRNT television program (now known as KCCI), “The Voice of Consolation”. He also preached the word of God several years on the radio broadcast. Pastor Warren also performed Administrative Assistant duties, Treasurer for the State of Iowa on local and national levels.
With God’s mercy and kindness he and his wife, along with members of Trinity Temple Church of God in Christ, celebrated forty-seven years of service to God’s children in September 2018.
Pastor Warren passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 10, 2020 surrounded by family at the age of 77.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Deacon Julius C. Warren and Mother Mary G. Warren; his wife, Mother Laura A. Warren; his sister, Merma J. Neighbors; and his brother, Julius C. Warren, Jr.
Pastor Warren leaves behind to celebrate his legacy, his children – daughters, Anita Warren and Diane Warren and son, Roland Warren, Jr.; seven grandchildren – Billy (Amanda Zimmerman) DeVan, Allen (Nancy) DeVan, Amanda (Salah) Salah, Lauren Oliver-Bundy (Jimmy), Bria Johnson, Andreas Warren and Uesile Warren; eleven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Faith Tabernacle Church of God and Christ, 131 9th Street, West Des Moines on Friday, December 18, 2020. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m., followed by funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Warren will be laid to rest at Glendale Cemetery, Des Moines.
I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord. Psalm 40:1-3

Elder Warren was my pastor for a number of years and he taught me what it truly meant to be born again. He and his wife were my best friends. He has gone on to get his reward and though we will miss him down here, I know he would not come back if given a choice. Rest well Elder! I will see you again around His throne. Marla Jones

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Warren , Price and Carter families on the passing of their loved one .
Pastor Warren was my pastor for 7 1/2 years , beginning near Christmas , 1999 . He was a wonderful , kind person , and a man of God . He lived the life he preached ! We had a lot of good times at Trinity Temple , he could play the B-3 like no.one else could . I will miss him tremendously , and am heartbroken , but I know Pastor Warren is in a better place .
God Bless
