Bernita Heacock

Bernita O. Heacock, 84, passed away Wednesday, August 12 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born December 1, 1924 in Zearing, IA. To Mabel and Harold Deal. Bernita was a homemaker. Bernita was a active member of Heritage Assembly of God Church where she taught Sunday school. She loved being with her family. Bernita liked sewing, gardening, taking long walks. She enjoyed reading the Bible.
Bernita is survived by her children, Rodney Deal (Brenda) of Norman, OK, James McMains (Lorrie) of Two Harbors, MN, Sue Robinson of Verndale, MN, and MaryAnn Smith (Alan) of Elkhart, IA; 21 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren; her sister, Helen Burns. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Dale and Donald.
Services will be at 11 am Saturday, August 15, at Heritage Assembly of God Church, 5051 NE 5th Street. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service.
Memorial contributions are suggested to her family in loving memory of Bernita.
Bernita's family would like to thank Iowa Hospice for the excellent care they gave to her during her illness.
