Buz, age 83, passed away December 6, 2020 in Des Moines, Iowa. Buz was born January 14th, 1937 in Sioux City, Iowa.

Buz was proud of his career in trucking and retired from SuperValu after 35 plus years. Buz enjoyed trips to the casinos, and he loved collecting model cars. He also loved playing a good game of Cribbage with anyone he thought he could beat. Buz was a fun dad and a big kid at heart.

He is survived by his sons, Larry Maschke, John (Peggy) Maschke, Justin (Rach) Maschke, and Ryan Maschke; Brenda Walte who was like a daughter to him; sister, Kathie Pickard; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Katherine Maschke; sister, Shirley; brother, Earl; and granddaughter, Officer Susan Ferrell.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 14, 2020 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to Make-A-Wish Foundation in loving memory of Buz.
