Veda Mae Jones

Veda Mae Jones, 92, passed away December 6, 2020 at Kennybrook in Grimes, IA. Veda and her identical twin sister were born March 12, 1928 to Ralph and Della Thornton of Colo, Iowa. She graduated from Colo High School and then attended Drake University. She married Vaughn Schuster on May 29, 1951 and the couple had a son, James Schuster.

Veda taught school for 25 years, the last of which were at Webster City, IA for 15 years. She moved to Rogers, AR and worked at the library for 10 years and then back to Indianola where she worked at Sears for over 10 years in a part-time capacity. Veda enjoyed traveling, bowling, and time spent with her family.

She is survived by her son, James Schuster of Indianola; and her siblings, Richard Thornton and Betty Patterson. Veda was preceded in death by her siblings, Verle Thornton and Velda Peterson.
