Luevena H. Deppe

Luevena Deppe, 71, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2020, at the Rehabilitation Center of Des Moines. She was born on November 9, 1949, the only daughter to John and Retha Ruben.

Luevena, along with her 3 brothers, were raised on a farm in Bondurant where they all helped with farm chores. She graduated from Bondurant High School and married Blaine White while he was in the Air Force. Together, they traveled the country and were blessed with two children.

Luevena spent a majority of her career working as a receptionist and teller for Wells Fargo. She later married Gerald Deppe and moved to Texas where she enjoyed going to San Antonia Spurs games.

Luevena also loved boating, crocheting, and watching the Iowa State Cyclones.

Luevena is survived by her son, Jonathan (Karla) White of Mitchellville; daughter, Deena White of Des Moines; brothers, Ernest and Everett Ruben; granddaughter, Karina Swedberg, and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her fourth husband, Gerald Deppe, and her brother, Edwin Ruben.

Private family services will be held on Monday, December 14, 2020, at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW in Altoona.
