Ryan Tyler Clift

Ryan Clift, 35, passed away on December 6, 2020 in Ames, Iowa. Born May 27, 1985, in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, to Robbie (Rob) and Sheri (Panter) Clift.

Ryan was raised in Summit County, Colorado. He was a sports enthusiast from a young age. Through his adolescent years you would find Ryan playing on one of the many local sports teams, many of which his Father, Rob Clift, coached. Ryan had a passion for being part of a team and creating a strong bond with the others that shared his passion. When Ryan wasn’t playing sports, he loved being outdoors; riding his bike, playing hockey, camping, skiing, sledding and all the other fun things that mountain kids love to do. Ryan graduated Summit High School in 2003 and continued to make Summit County his home. Over the next few years Ryan developed an extreme passion for skiing, inevitably making the passion into a career. Ryan held various jobs over the years but his time at Virgin Island Ski Rentals in Silverthorne was his favorite. He was able to combine his love for skiing and people, and build lifelong friendships. Ryan later worked for the town of Frisco, which sparked his interest in city development work.

In 2015, Ryan relocated to Ankeny, IA where he had his first child, daughter, Dillyn in October 2015. Ryan welcomed his second child, son, Breck in November 2018. Ryan had such a big heart for his family and was an amazing Father. Ryan was able to share his love for skiing and the mountains with his children, bringing his family to visit Summit County to take Dillyn skiing and skating. Ryan loved to take his kids on adventures, no matter the venue if even just to the park. While in Iowa Ryan pursued his career in city development and property management to attend Des Moines Area Community College to work towards his degree.

Ryan is survived by his two children, Daughter, Dillyn and Son, Breck; Mother of his children, Mindy Ponsetto; Mother, Sheri Clift; Sister, Cristin (Brother in-law, Wes) Lundeby; Grandfather, Robert (Bob) Clift; Uncle James (Aunt, Debbie) Panter; Niece, Abigail Lundeby; Nephews, Jonathan, Aiden and Grant Lundeby; and many other Great Uncles and Aunts and Cousins.

Ryan in preceded in death by his Father, Rob Clift; Maternal Grandparents Clark and Jaquelyn Panter; Paternal Grandmother Sally Clift; Uncle, Jerry Clift.
