At Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, he earned Bachelor’s degrees in Farm and Ranch Management and Economics. He then proceeded to earn a Master’s Degree in Ag-Economics at Purdue University. He started out his career at Pioneer Hi-Bred International/Corteva Agriscience behind a desk, but was soon sent around the world to help manage seed production. He fully enjoyed his 35 years working. Bob Bahr, also known as “Bottom Line Bahr”, is well known for his negotiating skills, uncanny ability to find mistakes in spread sheets within minutes, and love of good food. Many enjoyed food prepared by Bob, especially his carnitas.

Bob was active in his church and scouting programs. He led many high adventure canoeing and camping trips and helped hundreds of young men earn their Eagle Scout awards. He prepared many young men and young women to serve missions for the church as a priesthood leader and then Bishop of the Walnut Hills ward.

Bob enjoyed skiing, driving in the mountains, fly fishing, grilling, watching most sports, especially BYU. He immensely enjoyed his yard and worked hard to make it a beautiful place. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandkids. Though he was unable to play with them towards the end of his life, he loved them dearly. He also enjoyed wrestling with and teasing all other kids, never minding a bit whether they feared him, and most were scared of him, because he knew they would always come back for more. Those same kids grew up loving him and his continued influence in their lives.
