Joyce M. Millard, 81, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, December 5, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. Joyce was born the daughter of Merle and Hazel McAfee on July 6, 1939 in Des Moines, Iowa. She was primarily a homemaker and took great pride in caring for her family.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Lisa West; sons, Matthew Millard, Jimmy Millard, and Brian Millard; grandchildren, Piper, Staci (Curtis), Michelle, Krystina, Jesse, and Marissa; two great-grandchildren; brother, Bob McAfee; and many nieces and nephews.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Merle and Hazel McAfee; husband, Jimmy Millard; son, Jeffrey Allyn; and her sisters, Zelma, Jennie, and Wanda.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, December 14, 2020, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. There will be a reception in 2021 when it is safer to gather. Details to be determined.

I have been blessed to be part of the family and thought of Joyce as my other mom. She welcomed Brent as part of the family and we loved coming over to her house to celebrate Christmas Eve. She was such a beautiful person inside and out and we will cherish her laughter, smile and everything else about her. Sending our deepest sympathies to the family. May her memories be cherished always.

Joyce was like a second mom to me growing up. She always made me feel so welcome and loved and cared about. Heaven gained a sweet and patient angel on Saturday. My prayers for the family in this time of tremendous loss.
