Jameel "Meela" Ahmad Richardson

Jameel “Meela” Ahmad Richardson, age 42, passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2020 surrounded by her family.

Meela was born November 2, 1978 in Des Moines, Iowa to Earl L. and Blanche E. Richardson. She graduated from Hoover High School in Des Moines. Meela was a wonderful person and was loved by many. If you had the privilege of knowing her, you loved her. She was a very passionate person and touched many lives with her generosity and love. She loved traveling whenever she could and enjoyed all types of music.

She is survived by her mother, Blanche Richardson; daughter, Tahdi Sierro; step-sister, Lisa McGregory; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends.

Meela was preceded in death by her father, Earl L. Richardson; grandmother, Margaret K. Cason; cousin, Kimisha Cason; uncles, Carl Cason and Burdell Cason; and aunt, Dorothy Woods.

Funeral service will be held Friday, December 11, 2020 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines beginning at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery.
