John Charles (Chuck) Baker

John Charles (Chuck) Baker, 78, of Papillion, Nebraska passed away on August 10, 2009 at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids from complications of a brain injury. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 22, 2009 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines.
Chuck graduated from Newton High School and Drake University. He was married to Barbara Auten on June 29, 1951. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War, a Shriner and a member of the Terra Hills Afternoon Gang. He had retired from Dahl's and had lived in Papillion for the last 26 years.
He is survived by his children Tim (Linn) Baker of Auguilar, Colorado, Jeff (Pam) Baker of Des Moines, Amy (Greg) Seaman of Pleasant Hill, Pat (Erin) Baker of Chandler, Arizona and Jason Baker of Las Vegas, Nevada; his brother R.J. Baker; his sisters Mary Verlyn Davis and Beth Farhney; his grandchildren Melissa, Mike, John, Luke, Logan, Melinda, Grace, Jay and J.C.; as well as his special friend Mary Hopewell. He was preceded in death by his parents Verle and Helen Baker and his brother Bill.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Hospital.
