Robert O. "Mus" Musgrave

Robert O. "Mus" Musgrave, 83, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2009 at Taylor Hospice House.
Mus was born August 30, 1925 in Deer Ridge, Missouri to Thomas and Emily Musgrave. He moved to Des Moines in 1943 and served in the U.S. Navy. Mus worked for John Deere for 30 years and had been retired for 31 years. He was a member of Union Park United Methodist Church, U.A.W. Local 450 and Baldwin Patterson #274. Mus enjoyed collecting John Deere trinkets, camping, fishing and playing BINGO.
Mus is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara; daughter and son-in-law, Marcia and Richard Smith; granddaughter, Robin Smith all of Des Moines; sister, Leathabel Lemley of Des Moines, Mary (Chuck) Brolin of Cedar Rapids, Kathryn (Jim) King and Shirley Bredahl, both of Grants Pass, Oregon; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Pauline Reeves; and brothers, Halcene, Cecil, Delbert and Shelby Musgrave.
Memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at Union Park United Methodist Church, 2305 E. 12th St., followed by a luncheon.
Memorial contributions may be made to Union Park United Methodist Church or Taylor House Hospice.
