Shirley Lawrence, 64, passed away August 6, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. She was born on January 21, 1945, to Harry and Bonnie Story in Des Moines, Iowa.
She enjoyed being a wife to her loving husband of 44 years, a mother, her grandchildren, her soap operas, and being a homemaker.
Shirley is survived by her husband Vern, sons, Vern Jr. (Lori), Todd (Lee), Scott (Paula) Lawrence, sisters, Judy of Des Moines, and Sandra (Mike) of Windsor, CT, 13 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 15 nephews and nieces, and two special sister in laws, Judy (Stan), and Joyce. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Sharon Stowers.
Funeral Services will be held 12 p.m., Monday, August 10, 2009, at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., with burial to follow at Oralabor Cemetery in Ankeny, IA. A visitation with the family present will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, August 9, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be directed toward the family in loving memory of Shirley.

I'm so so sorry for what has happened to Shirley. Victoria and I always enjoyed visiting with her whenever we were together. We will miss her tremondously. May you find comfort within each other during this time of need.
We thought of you today,
But that is nothing new.

For what it meant to lose you,
