Danny E. Swan, 58, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. He was born October 8, 1950 in Des Moines.
Danny worked as a postal clerk for the US Post Office for 16 years. He proudly served in the US Army for 10 years. Danny loved being with his family. He enjoyed riding Harleys, going to and taking part in drag racing. He liked anything with speed. Especially cars.
Danny is survived by his wife, Marj, his son, Todd, his sisters, Sharon Barnett, and Marilyn Funke; his brothers, Terry Spooner and Doyle Swan.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Lucille Campbell.
Visitation will be held 5 to 8 pm Sunday at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens. Graveside services will be held 11 am Monday at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter.

Thinking of you Marge. Sure gonna be hard to have a bonfire without Danny around. I'm here if you need a shoulder to lean on. Come out and visit me any time. Love ya, Nance

We were very sorry to learn of Danny's passing. We enjoyed you as neighbors - always willing to help with watering our garden while on vacation or tilling our garden. We especially missed talking about our gardens across the fence and sharing our crops together. We know that Danny experienced a lot of pain with several health issues, but he always had a positive attitude. May he be at peace and free of pain now. Our thoughts and prayers to you and your family. If we can be of help with anything, please don't hesitate to call.
May God give you strength during this difficult time.
