Thelma Louise Heberer

Thelma Heberer, 93, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2009 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, Iowa. She was born on August 29, 1915 in Melcher, IA to Carl and Ethel Mattson.
Thelma spent her early years in Chariton and graduated from Chariton High School in 1932. She married William Doyle Heberer on June 20, 1945. Together they lived in Mingo, IA, Long Beach, CA, and most of their married life in Ankeny. Thelma was a member of Ankeny First United Methodist Church, the Priscilla Circle, the Women's Auxiliary of Mingo VFW, and the Graham Cemetery Association.
She will be remembered in life by her loving husband, William; son, Alan (Renee); grandchildren, Cole (Tricia), Jacquelyn, Alexandra; and great grandsons, Stetson, Keith and Nash.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Robert, Harold, Raymond and Richard Mattson.
Memorial Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at Ankeny First United Methodist Church, 206 SW Walnut Street, Ankeny.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Ankeny First United Methodist Church or the Ankeny Historical Society in loving memory of Thelma.
