Marilyn King

Marilyn King, 76, passed away on July 31, 2009 at the Fleur Heights Care Center. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, August 6, 11:00 a.m., at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home, with a burial at Avon Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, also at the Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th St.
Marilyn was born in Grinnell, Iowa, to Roy E. Strasser and Minnie Hahn; she was raised by Cretia and Roy E. Strasser.
Marilyn enjoyed moments with her family, her pet dogs, especially her Schnauzers, loved being a homemaker, playing the piano, long drives with friends, and living life with a "Go for It!" attitude.
Marilyn is survived by her sons, Jim Jr., (Leanne) King of Norwalk, and Jerry (Teri) King of Granger; grandchildren, Stefanie, Marissa, and Meredith.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Floyd L. (Jim) King.
Memorial contributions may be directed toward the Hospice of Central Iowa in loving memory of Marilyn.
