Peggy Lee Wichmann
July 30, 2009
At the age of 56, on July 30, 2009, the Lord sent His angels to take her home to Heaven to be with her beautiful mother, Georgia.
Visitation will be held 5 to 8 pm Monday, August 3, at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines, Iowa, and services will be held 1:00 pm Tuesday at Grace Church, 4200 E. 25th Street, Des Moines, Iowa, with a lunch following.
For the last two years and nine months she fought a tough battle with colon cancer, but never let it stop her from enjoying the great things in life. She loved watching her grandson Jordan in Motorcross racing. She enjoyed shopping, craft shows, decorating her house for the holidays, and Nascar. Peggy was a very special person to many people in her life especially their dog, Smokie. She enjoyed having fun and sharing laughter with her many special friends and family.
She is survived by her very loving husband, Allen; son, Tim Glick; grandchildren, Jordan, Kamryn, Evan; and daughter, Brandy Knopfel (Josh); four sisters, Nancy (Dennis), Darlene, Carol, and Ellen (Jack); two brothers, Bill (Jan) and Charlie (Jan), along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her Mother, Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles.
A special thanks to Dr. Robert Behrens and his staff at John Stoddard Cancer Center, Dr. Michael Paige and the Taylor House Hospice for their special care. Memorial contributions can be made to Taylor House Hospice.
Remember Me
Remember me with smiles and laughter, for that's the way Ill remember you. If you can only remember me with tears and sadness, then don't remember me at all.

My deepest Sympathy for your loss. Peggy worked for my Company (Air Filter Sales & Services) out of our Des Moines Branch as Receptionist/Bookkeeper from July 1989 thru May 1991. The branch manager at that time was Allan Osterhout. I enjoyed working with her.

Al, I am praying for you. May God bless this relatively brief time of separation. In the light of eternity the time away from those we love who have gone on before is but a blink of an eye. You will see Peggy again and there will be no more goodbyes. Praise the Lord for the hope we have in Jesus!
Your brother in Christ,
Bernie

My heartfelt sympathy to all of Peggy's loved ones. Peggy and I went all through school together. She was a very sweet and happy kid.I moved to Louisiana in our Junior year so I haven't seen her in a while but when ever I did see her it was like I never left Iowa.
She walks with the angels now. Peace be with you Peg.
Sincerely,
Peggy Curtis Adams

In the early years, Peggy's smile and laugh brightened our office. In the later years, her strength and positive attitude served as a shining reminder to all of us to appreciate each day. Thanks Peggy for all you shared and for all you taught us.

Al and Tim-
You and the kids are in my family's thoughts and prayers. Your mother was a tremendous woman with a great heart. She will be missed dearly by everyone whose lives she touched. May you and your family find peace in this hard difficult time.

Dear Allen,
My entire family's thoughts are with you and your family at this time. We cannot understand why people get ill like your Peggy did. We only can be comforted that she is now in Jesus' arms and not suffering anymore. Will be praying for you in the days to come. My mother always loved you, Allen, you were one of her favorite nephews. She, your father Orville, your mother Lillian and all the family in heaven are there with your Peggy now.
Love, Minnie's daughter Rosalin

We miss Peggy so much but she is Home with the Lord and has earned her life in Eternity with no more suffering. She knows she will always have the love of her family and her friends. Thank you so much for including us in her last days. We have years of great memories that will comfort us; I think of things that she has said and times we had and it makes me smile even when I'm crying.
We love you all.
