Karen E. Aldrich, 40, died Thursday, July 30, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday August 2, 2009 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service.
Karen was born October 28, 1968 to James and Susan McGaughey in Cedar Rapids. She worked at Dahl's for ten years and most recently was the store manager of Advance America. Karen enjoyed life to the fullest especially all forms of racing and boating.
Karen is survived by her children, Perry, C.J., and Samantha Aldrich; long time companion, Sam Eldridge; father, James McGaughey; brother, Steve (Joan) Muller; sisters, Laura Saavadra and Lisa (Gary) Clark; many nieces; nephews; and beloved friends. She was preceded in death by mother, Susan McGaughey.
Memorial contributions may be given to the family.

Karen was such a wonderful person,we had lots of talks inside and outside of her work, I hadn't spoken to her as of late, I lost my husband in May. I have lots of fond memories of her and am so sorry for your loss. There is another loving soul in heaven! God Bless you.

My prayers and thoughts are with Sam, Samantha , CJ and Perry.
I will miss my best friend and the talks we had. I loved her and you guys too.

I am so sorry to hear about Karen. She will be greatly missed. The world needs more people like her. Rest in peace. My thoughts and prayers are with her family
