Judy Kay Rivas

Judy Rivas, 62, passed away at her home Wednesday, July 29, 2009. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, August 3, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, 701 Wall Ave. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. with a vigil service at 7 p.m. Sunday at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St.
Judy was born August 4, 1946 in Des Moines. She retired as a unit clerk for Blank Children's Hospital. Judy was a member of Auxiliary Post 731 and enjoyed ceramics, cross-stitching, spending time with her family, going to Prairie Meadows and collecting Banty Roosters.
Judy is survived by her husband, David Rivas; daughters, Robin Rivas and Gina (Gustavo) Munoz; sons, Santos Rivas and Chivas Rivas; brother, Gene Brown; sister, Ann Mathews; 11 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Barbara (Hemping) Brandt and son Jake.
