Dennis Dean Countryman

Dennis D. "Denny" Countryman died in his home on July 29, 2009. His body will be cremated and remains interred at Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN at a future time. As he requested, a private gathering to value his life will be scheduled for family and friends in the near future.
Denny was born in Kimball, South Dakota, on September 13, 1934 to Dennis and Lora (Valentine) Countryman. They moved to Woodward where Denny graduated from Woodward High School in 1952 and attended Iowa State College (1952 - 1954).
Denny joined the Army in 1954 and served until 1956. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1958 and a Master's in Hospital Administration in 1961.
Denny had 40 years of professional challenges in the healthcare industry as a hospital administrator, healthcare consultant and in related healthcare management positions in the states of New York, Minnesota, Missouri, California and Iowa. He was, as a result of his professional achievements, a Lifetime Certified Healthcare Executive (Diplomate) of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Denny is survived by: Kathy Countryman, wife. Children: Mike Countryman (Nancy), Centerville, MN; Joan Countryman (Sue Sivertsen), Lakeland, MN; Nancy Lindberg (Randy) Lakeville, MN; and Bob Countryman (Abby), Bloomington, MN: as well as nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Denny was a lifetime fan of traditional, New Orleans Jazz and an avid reader, boater and golfer. Memorials may be sent to the Professional Golf Association's First Tee Program of the SPCA.
