Robert Stifel

Robert Stifel, 68, of Norwalk passed away on July 27, 2009. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. The family will greet friends from 6-8 P.M. Friday evening at the funeral home.
Robert was born on December 21, 1940 to Alberta and Fritz Stifel and was the youngest of four brothers. He was a football and track star at Johnston High School and loved fishing, hunting, and especially loved his grandchildren, Travis Briggs, Brandi McBee, Brittani McBee, Dillyn McBee and Jay and Jennifer Allen. Robert loved his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Sally, daughters, Laura Briggs, Shannon (Donnie) Graham, Terri (Rick) McBee and son Kenneth (Vickie) Briggs. Robert worked as a carpenter for the City of Des Moines and later became a supervisor. After 33 years he retired following a stroke in 2000.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He now joins his mom, dad and brother Bill who were all called home before him.
