Lucille Butcher, 75, was born December 18, 1931 in Columbia, Iowa, the daughter of Forest and Ida Moore, and passed away Friday, January 26, 2007 at her home.

Lucy worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Central Iowa Regional Library Systems in Des Moines for over 18 years before her retirement in 1999. She was a member of Sheridan Park United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and was extremely involved in church activities. Lucy enjoyed canvassing and spending time with her grandchildren.
Lucy is survived by her sons, Bryan (Stacy) Butcher of Des Moines and Corey (Dianna) Butcher of State Center; grandchildren, Sara Butcher, Lexee Butcher, Josh (Kelly) Butcher, Tamara (Robert) Morse and Kyli (Justin) Schnackenberg; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Morse, Alexa Morse, Delaney Butcher and Joseph Butcher; brothers, Raymond (Marge) Moore of Knoxville, Edwin (Gwen) Moore of Platteville, Wisconsin and Lester (Rosemary) Moore of Ames; sister, Priscilla (Dale) Strohbehn of Reinbeck; sister-in-law, Marles Moore of Coralville; numerous nieces, nephews and many wonderful friends.
Cremation will occur and memorial services for friends and family will be held in the spring at Sheridan Park United Methodist Church, with burial to follow at Gosport Cemetery south of Knoxville, Iowa. Details will be published prior to services in early April.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sheridan Park United Methodist Church. Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. is handling arrangements.
