David E. Wright
November 09, 2020
Dave E. Wright was born on August 15th, 1951 to Ralph & Arlene Wright. Dave lived in Chariton, Iowa, before moving to Newton. Dave always looked forward to seeing his friends.
He graduated high school in 1969; moving to Des Moines shortly thereafter. It was there he met his wife Joyce. They married in June of 1980 and had 3 wonderful children. Dave was always a proud Dad. After the floods of 1993, Dave and his family moved to Bondurant where Dave, with the help of family and a few friends, built their home. Dave was never too busy to enjoy the simple things in life. He often treated his family to an ice cream at dairy zone, took them for rides on his motorcycle, and preformed numerous car repairs. He was a lifelong member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Des Moines. One of Dave’s greatest joys in life was becoming a grandpa.
Dave passed away on Monday November 9th, 2020 at Mercy Medical Center. He was comforted by his wife of 40 years, Joyce Wright of Bondurant and his 3 kids, Joe Wright, Amanda Necessary, and Angie Wright. He is survived by his mom Arlene Wright of Newton, Brother and Sister in law Steve and Connie Wright of Ira, Sister and Brother in law Vonda Springer and Bryan Weldon, several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Services will be Saturday, November 21st, 2020 at Hamilton’s on Lyon Street Downtown, Des Moines, Iowa at 11:00 am. Due to covid restrictions there will no longer be a reception.

Our sincere condolences on Dave's passing. I have fond memories of the great times that we, the "Johnson cousins" (Arlene's side), had while growing up. He will be missed. Wishing you some peace from your own fond memories of Dave.

My heart goes out to your family during this time of loss. Bless you Arlene for, losing a child has to be the worst hurt to the heart and soul. May your memories bring you peace and comfort.

we are all sorry for yalls loss. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14
Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in Matthew 5:4
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
