Service Details

Sharon Lee Hargrave, 72, passed away November 1, 2020 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center.

Sharon was born February 16, 1948 in Omaha, Nebraska to Charles and Audrey Edgett. At around age 6 her family moved to Denver, Colorado for her father’s job as an over the road truck driver. After high school, Sharon went to a two year business school and also attended a modeling school. She modeled extensively and was in the Miss Colorado Universe Pageant. After business and modeling school, Sharon was a Flight Attendant for Eastern Airlines, based in Chicago. She flew in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas and Virgin Islands and the Bahamas.

Sharon loved people and cared deeply about her family and friends. She was very outgoing and had a big heart, and tried to help others as much as she could. She really never knew a stranger. Sharon would speak to people like she knew them all her life.

Sharon’s passion were her four dogs, Dolly, Casey, Payton and Indy. She enjoyed spending time with her children, other family and friends as well as her five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She enjoyed going on walks, singing, music, dancing, crafts, decorating her home and planting flowers.

She will be missed. Sharon talked a lot about reuniting with family members and friends that passed before her as well as seeing her two baby brothers that passed away at birth whom she never got to see, as she was too young to remember.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Don Hargrave; children, Yvonne Potter and Eric Rebhuhn; three grandchildren, Ashley Rosenberg, Shannesy Rebhuhn and Xzavia Rebhuhn; four great-grandchildren, Izaiah Rosenberg, Abram Rosenberg, Aniyah Rosenberg and Jonah Rosenberg; cousin, Mike Kresl; stepchildren, Matt Hargrave and Lisa Weeks; and two step-grandchildren, Samantha and Caleb Weeks; and a host of extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be held Friday, November 6, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Cairn Terrier Rescue in loving memory of Sharon.
