Service Details

Nick, 41 passed away unexpectedly on October 31, 2020 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, surrounded by family.

Nick was born August 12, 1979 in Des Moines to Charles Sr. and Marlena (Campero) Cipale. Anyone that met Nick became an instant friend. He was the most caring, compassionate person and would do anything for anyone. Although most of Nick's life was challenging in more ways than one, he made the best of every single day. He always had a smile on his face and had the best sense of humor.

Nick will be remembered for his love of cars. He spent many hours fixing them, especially upgrading stereos to play music as loud as he could. He inherited his love of music and electronics from his dad and brother. Nick was so proud of his Mexican and Italian heritage.

He would show up to Christmas gatherings with a bag full of gifts for each kid. He loved all kids and treated them like his own. His pride and joy were his nieces, nephews and great-nephew. Nick loved and adored his sisters, however, nothing compared to the adoration and love he had for his mom. They shared a special bond that was untouchable and admired by many.

Those left to mourn his passing are his mother, Marlena; sisters, Julie (John) Sloan, Lisa Cipale (Chad Loudon) and Amanda Cipale; nieces, Marissa Loudon, Isabella Loudon and Sienna Sloan; nephews, Luke Cipale, Dominic Cipale and Joseph Felice; and great nephew, Liam Smith; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and his beloved dog, Rico.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Cipale Sr.; brother, Chuck Cipale; and his grandparents, Nick and Margaret Campero and Charles and Mary Cipale.

The family will greet friends from 4 pm to 8 pm with the Rosary recited at 7:30 pm on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Friday, November 13, 2020 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 15 Indianola Road followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery.
