Sam Branchcomb

Samuel Brooks Branchcomb, age 86, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2020.
Sam was born February 15, 1934 in Des Moines, Iowa to Edgar A. and Jennie E. (Wilcox) Branchcomb. He married Sandra Sue Goforth and they enjoyed 50 years together. Sam’s family was his first priority and he loved his grandbabies more than anything. He worked as a drywaller for Heideman Drywall, Inc. and Mabrier Drywall during his working years. Sam liked playing pool and scratch-off tickets. He loved a good cup of coffee and one of his favorite places to go was to QT for a cup. He also liked going to Prairie Meadows.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sandy Branchcomb; his children, Shane (Faye), Suellen, Shawn, Sandra, Alexis, and Paige Branchcomb; son-in-law, Victor Ruacho; eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.
Sam was preceded in death by his daughters, Shellie Ruacho and Sherrie Branchcomb; his parents, Edgar and Jennie Branchcomb; and several brothers and sisters.
Service will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m., followed by funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Avon Cemetery after the services.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Sam.

I was so sad to here of Sam's passing. I will keep the good memories of the old neighborhood and him and his family in my heart. so sorry for your loss Sandy miss seeing you too at the diner.

The world will be a much sadder place without you Sam! Thank you to you and Sandy for always being there for me and being such an amazing provider for your entire family.
