Service Details
Visitation for Joel Francis Moots will be held Friday, October 30, 2020 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines.
Joel was born on August 23, 1993 to Mindy (West) and Neal Moots in Des Moines, IA. He graduated from West Des Moines Valley High School the then attended Des Moines Area Community College. Joel loved playing soccer as a kid and being outdoors. Finding a quiet spot for fishing was a favorite pastime.
He is survived by his parents, Neal and Mindy Moots; siblings, Daniel McNerney and Paul Moots; maternal grandmothers, Judy Dymond and Sheryl West; paternal grandfather; Gary Moots; many aunts, uncles and cousins. Joel was preceded in death by his maternal grandfathers, Dean Dymond and Larry West; and paternal grandmother, Grace Moots.

Dear Neal & Mindy -
Its hard to know what to say except Caroline and I feel for you and to offer our deepest condolences to the Moots family and all of Joels loved ones.
The Bible says, There is a time to mourn. This is definitely that time. But God is mighty and we can turn to Him especially in times of grief. Were praying for comfort for you.

Joel, thanks for all the great memories, man. I'll always cherish all the times we played Xbox for hours, made prank calls (which you were always so good at), watched movies, and played tennis at the park next door. You were one of the funniest people I've ever known and I'm proud to have been able to have you as a friend. I wish we hadn't fallen out of touch and I'm so sorry that your journey was cut so short. you were always somebody i admired and looked forward to seeing again, the times we had prank calling and walking through the Greenbelt are times i cherish forever. i didnt think the last time we talked was gonna be last conversation we had together, if i knew i wouldve held onto you and never let you go. It breaks my heart to have god take you so soon..
