Evelyn Grother

Evelyn W. Grother, 82, of Des Moines, died Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 26, 2007 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Evelyn was born July 25, 1924 to Richard and Mabel Vasey. Evelyn enjoyed watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, loved doing yard work, quilting and animals especially dogs.
Evelyn is survived by two sons, Paul (Barb) of Des Moines and Dan (Glenna) of Altoona; one daughter, Janice (Dic) Youngs of Altoona; nine grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John and two brothers.
Memorial contributions may be given to Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House.
