Samantha Ogden
Des Moines
Samantha Ogden, 30, passed away October 11, 2020 at home.
Samantha was born June 5, 1990 in Des Moines, Iowa to Kevin Ogden and Tia Wright.
Samantha thoroughly enjoyed her previous jobs at the Animal Rescue League and Hy-Vee as it allowed her big heart and ability to always be willing to help people shine. She was a true soccer and softball fan and enjoyed watching her children play. Samantha liked listening to music and dancing but above all she cherished time spent with her children. She was a true definition of a diva in the sense that you would never find her without being “done up.” If her love of shoes didn’t catch your attention then her smile definitely would do the trick. She could always light up a room.
Samantha is survived by her grandmothers, Pamela Wright, Debbie Wright and Ginger Leo; mother, Tia Wright; father, Kevin Ogden; children, Avah, Alivia, Emalea, Aliona, and Easton; siblings, Taylor (Stephen Lavallee) Drake, Katie Wisecup, and Jake (Chrissy) Coady; numerous nieces and nephews; aunt, Amee (Steve Stoermer), Katy (Jerrod Long), and Kim Lemgruber; uncle, Rich (Lori Wright); and numerous family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandpa, Richard Wright; grandpa, Jim Ogden; and father of Alivia, Kevin Underwood.
The family will greet friends Sunday, October 18, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Samantha.

I knew Sam ever since kindergarten at Lovejoy Elementary and we remained friends up until Lincoln High. We lost touch after school, but I will always remember her as a beautiful and vibrant person. Everyone was in awe of how beautiful she was. I can still smell the lip gloss she applied on herself everday when she sat behind me in english class. She will be missed but I know her spirit will live on in her children, who she undoubtedly loved very much. Rest in Peace, Sam

Sam worked in my department at Hy-Vee. We didnt know eachother long but we became good friends fast. She was so bubbly, I couldnt wait for her to get to work. She was a beautiful girl. Her smile was electric and you couldnt help but smile back at her. I always wanted her long lovley eyelashes. She was very proud of her kids and talked about them often. Everyone at Hy-Vee that knew her loved her. She will be missed.

Sam,
You will be missed at all family gatherings and holidays. Your facebook posts will be missed (all the wonderful pictures of you and the kids and your GREAT BIG SMILE!). I personally will miss seeing your consistent triumphs and come backs (your strength and perserverence were nothing short or miraculous and amazing). I'm sure your Grandpa Jim was waiting to greet you, and pulled you in his arms for one of his famous hugs (he was one of my favorite "huggers"). I see you in your children. They are as beautiful as you. And thus, you will live on. Your love will live on. And oh, you loved BIG!
I will see you on the other side, dear cuz. In the meantime, please watch over your mom, dad, grandma, siblings, along with all your littles. Send them a sign every once in awhile, to help them feel you again.

My heart is breaking at the loss of such a beautiful young soul. Samatha was my stident. She was kind, quiet and smart. Twenty or so years later saw a few little mini Sams arrive in my art room. i was over joyed to find out I was teaching her beautiful children, just as kind, quiet and smart as Sam. I mourn for them and with them. All of my love goes to you! Peace to you Samantha, in God's love!

Sam, even though i have not seen you in some years, the mark you made on my life will not be forgotten. Your smile lit up the room and our smack talking sessions in Mr. Marshalls Spanish class will forever live in my memory. Thank you for being apart of my teenage years. My deepest condolences go to your loved ones and your children. love you dear friend
