Kenneth Knutson

Kenneth E. “Kenny” Knutson left this world on Friday, July 3, 2009. He was born January 11, 1928 in Marinette, Wisconsin to Iver and Cora Knutson.
Kenny was retired from Broadlawns Medical Center and was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He married MaeAnna Elliott in 1955, spending 35 wonderful years together until her death in 1990. He married Lynn Newman in 1994. Kenny enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, country music, John Wayne movies and old time cartoons. Kenny loved spending time with his family, most of all spending time with his grandchildren, whom brought much joy to his life.
Kenny is survived by his loving children, Joseph Knutson of Moosup, Conneticut, Michelle (Mike) Knutson and Carol (Tony) Ashley, all of Des Moines; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his baby daughter, Kennette Elizabeth; five brothers; six sisters and the love of his life, MaeAnna Knutson. Kenny will be greatly missed by all who knew him, but will forever remain in our minds and hearts.
The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Graveside services are planned for 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Glendale Cemetery.
