We are so sorry to hear of your husband's passing. It is such a shocking story because we know you and we just never expect these kinds of things to happen to people we know. You have shown such incredible strength. Let our prayers and love lift and comfort you now as you recover, first, physically and then emotionally and spiritually. God certainly is holding you in the palm of his hands and we will continue to hold you in our prayers. Love, Phil and Barb

Dear Patti-
I was so sorry to hear of the tragic death of your husband, Alan. What an admirable and brave effort that the construction workers did. They were so brave in saving your life! I know it so hard for a part of you to be grieving,----and yet,----a part of you feeling thankful that they were able to save you.
I just found out this evening that you are formerly from Fairfield, IA.
My maiden name was Cassabaum, I graduated in 1957 from FHS. My sister, Janet Speer was married to Don Speer. Don worked for your father, Benny, as an electrician. I now live here in Ankeny with my husband, Kenneth. (I remember that you were once 'Miss Fairfeld'.)
I know all the good memories of you and your husband will always be there for you and your family. My deepest sympathy to you and your family.

Patti,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time in the loss of Alan. We are so happy that we were able to spend time with Alan and get to know him a little when we spent a day and evening in your home. We are so happy that you and Alan stopped on your trip to FL in your RV even if it was a short visit. We enjoyed getting to know Alan a little better and of course to see you a very special friend. You will always have fond memories of the trips that you were able to take together in your RV and visit places in the United States. Both of you are great grandparents and we know his kids and grandchildren will have fond memories of times they spent with him and you. Please plan to visit us anytime and as often as you want. We are here if you need to talk at anytime. Love, Patty and Les Breen

Patti,
We are so sorry to hear of the tragic loss of your dear husband, Alan. I know you were so happy together even if we never were able to meet you and him in the years past, but you sounded so happy and so gracious in our correspondence with the class reunion. We saw the dramatic rescue of you never realizing it was you until David and Patty emailed me. Our prayers are with you and your familly always and know that though we will not be in contact, our spirit of love will be with all of you.
Please know that I would love to visit with you at any time and I pray the healing will be gentle and your memories fond of your time together
Love

Patty;
You are such a dear sweet lady. There are no words, at a time like this, that can help with the pain that you are going through. Alan was a great guy! He will be sorely missed by all. I am so sorry for your loss.
The offer of help is often given out of courtesy, but my offer to do anything for you, is completely genuine. I am there for you any time of the day or night.
Please remember that you are not alone. You have many,many friends that are also feeling your loss. God is also waiting for you to reach out to him for strength and courage. That is the stregth you need to draw on.
Our broken hearts WILL mend, but with time. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,
Terry and Sally Henson
