Richard Jr. Schwartz II

Richard (Rick) Jr. Swartz II, age 57, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2009. Rick's body has been cremated and a memorial service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, July 2nd at Grace Baptist Church, 9936 County Line Road, Des Moines.
Rick was born October 18, 1951 in Des Moines to Richard and Clara Swartz. He was an active member in the Painters and Allied Trades Local 246, DC-81 for 16 years. Rick was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed the weekly race event at the state fair grounds. He discovered a new found faith in Christ and was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
Rick will be dearly missed by his wife of 35 years, Nellie Swartz; sons, Christopher (Jackie) Swartz and Joey (Shonna) Swartz; daughter, Jennifer (Mark) Howard; parents, Richard and Clara Swartz; sisters, Betty (Gail) Lundy and Cindy Bird; grandchildren, Caleb, Nickie, Camie, Zachary, Kelcie, Dirrik (DJ), Arianna and Angelica; dogs, sugar bear and fluffers; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, extended relatives and many friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
