Robert G. Connett

Robert G. Connett, 78, went to be with the Lord on June 27, 2009.
A celebration of life will be held, 11 AM, Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St, in Des Moines, with burial to follow at Warren-Powers Cemetery in Adelphi, Iowa. Visitation will occur Tuesday, June 30, 2009 from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.
Robert was a veteran of the Korean Conflict where he received the Purple Heart Medal. He worked at John Deere for over 30 years before his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his family, including his church family. He loved playing games and driving his new red cars.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters; Gail (Mark) Lane, Julie (Randy) Van Zee, Carla (Rick) Cisneros, Janice (Ken) Zbynski; Christian companion, Ruth Schell; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; siblings, Betty Rogers and Vernon Connett.
Memorial contributions may be directed toward the Vandalia Church of Christ.
