Dorothy Hillabolt

Dorothy Maxine Hillabolt, 87, passed away June 27, 2009 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston Iowa.
Dorothy was born January 21, 1922 in Knoxville, Iowa to Roy and Edith (Holden) Garrison.
Dorothy was married to Ralph Hillabolt on December 31, 1940. They moved to Des Moines in 1952 where they raised their four children. Dorothy was a homemaker, she enjoyed playing cards, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Sherry Crabbs; and sons, Gary, Dennis and Randy Hillabolt; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; parents Roy and Edith; brothers, Otis, Howard and James Garrison.
A funeral service will be held at 10 AM, Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at Park Avenue Christian Church, 3219 SW 9th Street in Des Moines, with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will occur Tuesday, June 30, 2009 from 6-8 PM at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street.
Memorial contributions may be directed toward Mercy Hospice in Johnston.
