Gerald Lydic

Gerald R. Lydic, 58, passed away at his home of a heart ailment on Thursday, June 25, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 29, 2009 at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 1746 Des Moines Street. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 5 to 7:30 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 7:30 p.m. at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.
Gerald served in the Air National Guard for 21 years. He retired from the City of Des Moines where he worked as a supervisor for over 30 years.
Gerald is survived by his daughters, Brandy (Greg) Nystrom, Melinda Lydic, Ginny (Brian) Ward and Kelley (Jimmie) Widlund; mother, Virginia Lydic; sister, Charleen Lukenbill; brothers, John and Joe Lydic; and his six grandchildren, Ashley, Austin, Connor, Haley, Riley and Jacob. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry; father, Charles, Jr.; and brother, Charles III.
