Service Details
Roy F. Davis, III passed away at his home Wednesday, June 24, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 27, 2009 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. with burial to follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Roy was born July 25, 1950 in Des Moines to Roy and Josephine Davis. He was a Vietnam veteran having served in the U.S. Navy. On January 26, 1974, he married Diana B. Helton. Roy worked for the City of Des Moines until his retirement in 2001.
Roy will be missed by his wife, Diana; son, Christopher (Tara); grandchildren, Justin and Catie; siblings, John (Peggy) Grossnickle, Scott (Dawn) Peddycoart, Dan Davis, Suzanne (Jeff) Weiler, Michele Davis and Doug (Tara) Davis.
Memorial contributions may be made to Taylor House Hospice or Elk's Lodge #98 in Pleasant Hill.

So sorry to hear of Roy's passing. Unfortunately, I'm out of the state at this time and unable to attend the funeral or visitation. Roy and I grew up together and went to school together. As we got older we went to Frisky's and Joe and Betty's together.

im so sorry about Roy passing away.He was my great uncle.my family and i had a nine hour roadtrip to come to say our good byes. i feel bad about every thing that happend.i wanted to say im sorry to the family.i wanted to say sorry to his wife diaine.and to my cousin chris.i know its hard losing i loved one.We know he is in a better place.Once again im sorry to the family and to every one who knew Roy and what a great man he was.

I'm so sorry to hear about Roy's passing. Roy was good man and i'll miss seeing him at the Lodge.
