Rita E. Cooke

Rita E. Cooke, 78, passed away at Mercy Medical Center on June 22, 2009. Upon request of the family she has been donated to Des Moines University. Private family services will be at a later date.
She was born on February 1, 1931 to Harry and Freda (Parrot) Cabral in Kerachi, India. She loved animals and nature. Rita had a great sense of humor and wrote poetry for a hobby.
Rita is survived by her daughters; Lynette (Bruce) Upchurch and Lillian (Romi) Kumar, son; Stephen Cooke, grandchildren; Darryn, Jackie, Brendon, Roy, Danny, Kyle, and Tia, her darling cats; Smokie, Ginger, Precious, and Susie; and many nieces and nephews in New York and London.
