Raymond Hunt, Jr.

Raymond Hunt Jr. 84, died June 20, 2009 at Carlisle Care Center. Funeral services will be 2 PM Wednesday June 24, 2009, at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home, with burial following at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
Ray was born in Des Moines on September 11, 1924 and was an Army Veteran of WW II. He retired as a detective with the Des Moines Police Department in 1979 and was a member of the Des Moines Police Burial Association, Iowa State Police Association, Lincoln Heights Lutheran Church and past president of the Avion Travelcade Club of Iowa.
Ray is survived by his wife of 63 years, Darlene; son, Jerry (Debra) Hunt; daughter, Judy (Russ Kroger) Solem; grandchildren, Tiffany (Jack) Branson, Joshua (Courtney) Hunt, Trisha Solem, Miranda (Brian Pirillo) Solem; great grandchildren, Max, Micah, Ashton, Logan, Keegan, Camille and Mason.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lincoln Heights Lutheran Church.
